200 Hour, 5 Module Approach Structural Integration
The five modules approach to the tens session series allows the committed students to implement the techniques that are learned in each module into their practice and then return for subsequent modules with the knowledge and inquiry that comes exclusively from "hands on" experience. This learning format also allows therapists to minimize the impact on their family responsibilities as well time away from their practices. It is not necessary to take every module to gain benefit for their practices. Each module contains an enormous amount of information that is often highly beneficial to any style of bodywork.
The student to teacher ratio on the table is never greater than 4 to 1! And most importantly, the Lyons Institute believes the most powerful teaching method employs a "dual path" feedback system. Every technique is demonstrated on every student. In addition, the student will work on the instructors, so that they may enjoy powerful feedback sessions immediately. This method accelerates the understanding of the quality of touch that is necessary to implement the techniques.
Module 1
In this module the new students of Structural Integration will be given the physical tools and body mechanics used throughout the process and the ability to transfer those skills in their current practice.
1 We will begin the journey of "seeing" the body in stillness and in movement to create a framework with which a protocol can be built upon to assist our clients in creating a more balanced structure.
2 Appropriate use of pace and vector while applying the various tools will be covered.
3 Visceral and cranial concepts will be introduced which augment the original approach that was given to us by Dr. Ida P. Rolf creating additional channels to access the client' healing system.
4 The energetic quality of touch and its value will be explored during the beginning of our journey as SI practitioners.
5 Bench work will be introduced that ground the client in their feet and pelvis.
6 The first and second session of the recipe will be taught in its entirety.

Module 2
In this module the students will be taught how to create balance from the foundation up by evaluating the effects of strategic lengthening on structures below the pelvis.
1 The students will be given "brain gym" concepts to implement in their clients self-educational, healing process.
2 The cranial wave will continue to be explored with concepts for focusing and listening.
3 The students will learn how to take structural concepts and techniques and apply it to athletic enhancements protocols.
4 Stretching concepts will be discussed as well and specific stretches will be introduced for injury prevention and rehabilitation.
5 The pyramid concept and its value to movement will be taught.
6 The students will learn to explore more deeply into the concept of energetic touch and "broadcasting".
7 The students will gain valuable insights into the pelvic floor and how to bring balance to that important area.
8 The 3rd and 4th session in the recipe will be taught in its entirety.
Module 3
In this module the student will explore the deep hip flexors and their role in the functional balance of the pelvis.
1 Cranial pelvic releases and their contribution in creating pelvic balance and awareness will be taught.
2 The student will learn powerful abdominal techniques that release emotional and physical energy.
3 The students will learn an array of tools and techniques to free the sacrum and alleviate many of the conditions that contribute to lower back pain.
4 Specific techniques to create more freedom in the mid-thoracic area will be taught.
5 "Brain Gym" techniques will be further explored.
6 The 5th and 6th sessions in the series will be taught in its entirety.
Module 4
in this module the students will gain an in depth insight into the structures of the neck and learn powerful techniques to create freedom and ease in even the most stubborn cases.
1 An entire protocol of cranial sacral work to create balance and softness will be introduced.
2 Additional "brain gym" concepts will be taught during this module to create subtle movement options.
3 Mobility stretching exercises will be taught to enhance the client's structural integrity. These are simple movement patterns that create functional suppleness which help to accelerate the client's recovery.
4 The students will be given a simple standing chi gung exercise for their own energy cultivation.
5 The 7th and 8th sessions of the recipe will be taught in its entirety.
Module 5
In this module the students will deepen their understanding of the cranial wave and how it affects the deeper structures of the body.
1 The students will learn to distinguish between an upper girdle session and lower girdle.
2 Continue use of mobility exercises and "brain gym" techniques will be taught as rehabilitation tools.
3 Visceral techniques will be taught to deepen the understanding of the importance of visceral fascia to structural integrity.
4 The 9th and 10th session of the recipe will be taught in its entirety.
